Benjamin “Big Ben" Hearthworth learns that the Master and His Family have mysteriously vanished and vows, with all other Boggarts, to preserve the House for their return.
Led by Wise Paracelsus, Sprites claim the Upper Floor and begin to build what would later become the Free Dominions, ignoring Boggart protests.
The Boggarts declare war against the Sprites and, after several years of skirmishes and truces, manage to overwhelm them and push them back in Beddingham. Foreseeing a long siege with mass casualties on both sides, Big Ben gives Wise Paracelsus three days to surrender.
20 M.G. The Fae Exodus
A lightning bolt strikes the Dendronaos tree, ancestral home of Faeries, and forces them on a long exodus toward the Great Window of the Dining Hall. Led by Tsar Oberon, they establish their new Realm there.
21 M.G. The Battle of the Great Stairs
Big Ben proposes to Wise Paracelsus to put aside their old grudges and make an alliance against the invading army of Faeries, but he doesn’t realize that the sprite intends to strike a deal with Oberon and betray the Boggart. When the Boggarts are crushed between the Fae and Sprite armies, the Battle of the Great Stairs turns into a Massacre. This event, where Big Ben falls on the battlefield, is largely remembered as “the Great Betrayal”.
23 M.G. The Boggart Exile
All Boggarts who refuse to renounce their cause are exiled to the Outhold. Thus begins the Empire of Oberon, known as Trismegistus.
51 M.G. The First Samhain
On November 1st of 51 M.G., the 27 Sluagh tribes from Farbeyond reach the Household through the Piping and begin pillaging. Oberon sends his army against them, but the Faeries get decimated in the ensuing battle, which is known in History books as “The Wild Hunt”.
74 M.G. The Restoration Pact
Oberon turns to the Boggarts and offers them a new deal: in exchange for their help against the Sluagh, he promises that, in the event of the Master’s return, he will restore the House to its original state and leave forever. Thus, Boggarts return to the Hearth led by Big Ben’s grandson, William Benjamin Hearthworth, and the First Household War begins.
83 M.G. Oberon’s Assassination
Emperor Oberon Trismegistus is mysteriously assassinated, beginning the difficult process of choosing an heir among the few Faeries of Imperial Lineage who survived the fall of Dendronaos. At first, General Ludmillen is nominated as Oberon’s heir, but he renounces the crown. The second choice unexpectedly falls on young Arcadia, Oberon’s daughter, who is crowned Tsarina of the Realm.
87 M.G. The Tristarred Rebellion
With the “Brothers!” Edict, Arcadia Oberonovna declares that all littlings belong to the same people, and there are no difference between the Little Folk. This rouses the wrath of some soldiers in the Great Imperial Army. These faeries, who call themselves the Tristarred, take control of the Piano until young Tristan des Larmes known as the Dark Fairy vanquishes them in battle.
When news of a huge Swan that has taken over the Outhold and threatens the House reach Empress Arcadia Oberonovna, she calls for a truce to the Household War. For the first time ever, all Folks unite as one army against the common enemy.
91 M.G. / 0 H.C. The High Council
Capitano Rodomonte defeats the Swan and brings to Arcadia Oberonovna the head of the alleged assassin of her father, marking the end of the First Household War. The Treaty of Astraviya creates a High Council with representatives from each Folk. In turn, the Council names Arcadia the Ruling Empress of the Household. After the end of the war, all citizens of the Household with valid documents are finally allowed to travel freely between the Rooms with no limitations, in hopes this eases the integration and reconciliation of all Folks.
VI H.C. Tragedy on the Bannister
Despite years of shaky peace, not all littlings were in favor of unity. On Yule day, the Bannister Caravan was derailed as it descended from Topridge. Credit for the brazen attack was claimed by Fianna Saoirse, led by Commander Norten Kirkland.
VII H.C. Continued Unrest
Dissatisfaction with the High Council seemingly spread through all corners of The House. A massive riot targeting non-Sluagh happened in Al Sehir early in the year, sporadic attacks by Fianna Saoirse continued, and the Tri-Starred began increased their distribution of propaganda. Late in the year, Maestro Vitaly Gitara, famed composer and member of The Symposium, was assassinated during a visit to Astraviya. Although many groups claimed credit, no one knows for sure who the perpetrators were.
VII H.C. Breakout at Deepdown
The year kicked off with word that a mass exodus of prisoners had occurred from the notorious Deepdown Prison in The Basement.
