There’s little to do in Topridge but eating, resting, and getting medical care, and that is pretty much everything the littlings who get there want. For tourists leaving The Upstairs, it is a last chance to buy souvenirs and postcards from the Free Dominions. Recently, the customhouse in Topridge has been manned by by littlings of the Great Imperial Army Instead of the Porcelain Guard, as is traditional. This has become a source of some contention.
The Bannister Caravan, Upper Terminal: The Caravan is a special convoy made up of three coaches towed by big mice of Hearth breed. They cover the distance to Downridge in just two days, stopping for the night at the changing station halfway up the Stairs located on the Banister . As such, the caravan leaves every four days, and tickets are always booked well in advance, despite the fact that they are a luxury item. Damage from the horrific events of VI H.C. have now been repaired.
